From Storm to Sound: A Unique Sound Art Journey
Thanks to my friend Duane Hamacher and the incredible vision of my friend Alexey Erberg — who took this project to the next level by inspiring the performance idea — I’m thrilled to share a new sound art that truly blew me away! A special shoutout to the amazing Impro Performance Session from Saint Petersburg, whose collaboration brought this to life in a way I couldn’t have imagined.
This piece began with a single, powerful moment: the sound of the wind during a Melbourne storm, recorded by Dr. Duane Hamacher. From that raw, natural chaos, I used a granular synthesizer to uncover hidden layers of texture, movement, and resonance, transforming the storm into a rich, ambient soundscape.
The result? A singular composition that explores the interplay of chaos and calm, reflecting the energy of nature in its purest form. It’s an invitation to listen deeply, to find music in the unseen currents that shape our world.
Watch now and immerse yourself in this unique fusion of sound and performance art.
